The Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager will be responsible for executing shopper marketing programs with excellence, in concert with Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) and key retail accounts across multiple channels of trade. The goal is to execute the plan to optimize engagement of Lawn and Garden shoppers at these specific retail accounts.

 

To be successful, the Assistant Shopper Marketing Manager must work cross-functionally across SMG and within customer account teams to bring game-changing programs to life.

 

In this role you will:

  • Drive shopper marketing program execution across key retail accounts.

  • Assure that marketing program tactics are briefed and executed with agencies and within retailer networks.

  • Manage retailer specific marketing needs including: promotional execution, creative development, in-store POP, fixture, and display execution, retailer .com and digital media and content needs.

  • Work alongside teams within customer accounts’ marketing functions, including L&G category marketing, shopper insights, CRM, media, digital, social media, store environment and others to bring plans to life..

  • Manage efficiency of marketing programs and adjust as possible in-season: Maximize ROI/ROAS, adjust flighting/audiences, coordinate pieces of the program for maximum benefit. Work with the Performance Marketing team to read campaign analytics and offer suggestions to optimize campaigns in as timely a fashion as possible.

  • Partner with sales account managers and cross functional resources (brand teams, agencies, creative development teams etc).

  • Become a trusted member of both the SMG sales and marketing teams.

  • Leverage overall SMG marketing capabilities with key retail accounts.

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with retail accounts, business development, sales, and marketing teams.

  • Must have the ability to execute with cross-functional teams to drive strong program execution, some of which may be remote.

  • A strong communicator, passionate, and results-driven.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present, internally and at retail accounts

  • Some other nice to have’s: Prior experience in related consumer marketing fields.
