We are looking for a Legal Compliance Director who will join our Legal team in Marysville, Ohio.

The Director of Compliance will work with the business to identify and prioritize opportunities to develop compliance programs. The position will necessarily entail the ability to think strategically within an organization and to work cross-functionally and manage projects.  In collaboration with business operators and leaders, the position will build, modify and/or implement business processes to satisfy the company’s legal obligations while maximizing efficiency and business efficacy of the processes.  It will also require experience with and aptitude for learning business processes and compliance objectives and developing and presenting training programs.  

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Work with the Compliance group and the Company to think strategically and identify and prioritize opportunities to build or enhance compliance programs including anticipating and proactively identifying opportunities as the legal and/or regulatory environment changes and/or as the business changes.

  • Support, or in some cases run, projects to build or enhance compliance programs. 

  • Work cross-functionally on projects with associates from business units and other support areas (Regulatory, HR, Finance, Quality, R and D and EHS).  

  • Research compliance objectives accurately and reliably and translate them into business objectives that can be captured in a sound, practical and cost-effective business process.

  • Provide legal advice (for lawyers only), or facilitate the provision of legal advice, relating to the Company’s obligations in light of its specific business context.  

  • Develop, deliver and sustain company-wide compliance communications.

  • Develop and deliver engaging compliance training programs.  

  • Manage a budget to accurately forecast and communicate about spending.

  • Commonly work in support of and/or at the direction of the Company’s legal counsel.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience and/or Education with business process design.

  • At least 6-9 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Experience in corporate compliance including an understanding of compliance programs and the elements of compliance programs.

  • Experience running and/or supporting projects.

  • Good research, writing, and oral communication skills.

  • A JD and law license is a plus but not required.

  • Experience in a consulting role is a plus but not required.

  • Some travel required.
