If you enjoy a fast-paced, high energy and seasonal manufacturing environment then you will fit in well as a Dispatcher for Scotts Miracle-Gro. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for the execution of all plant activities related to freight,  dispatching trucks. This position is critical in ensuring timely and cost effective delivery of products to customers. The position directly impacts distribution cost to the company.This position has considerable impact upon the plant’s contribution to the Growing Media division’s overall performance and customer relations.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate Scotts and Growing Media freight ensuring maximum efficiency as well as timely deliveries.

  • Maintain and processes all necessary records and paperwork to ensure that  contract carriers are in compliance with regulations. Confirm and/or process orders and bills of lading.

  • Advise customers on delivery scheduling and order problems; develop production schedules in conjunction with the Production Supervisor; work with production personnel and other Growing Media Plants to coordinate shipments; responds to inquiries from customers, truck drivers, corporate personnel, etc.

  • Perform special projects and other office duties as requested.

The perfect person will have:

  • A High School Diploma

  • Two years experience in a traffic or freight related field.  

  • Previous experience dispatching trucks

  • Microsoft Office and computer skills

Other nice to haves:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities at once with a strong customer service orientation

  • Prior Negotiation experience

  • Knowledge of office procedures.
