The Supply Chain Senior Analyst will lead customer setup and creation for all e-commerce related initiatives and new accounts.  The Senior Analyst position is responsible for forecasting, catalog management, identifying sales opportunities, cost management reporting, e-commerce project management, and improving e-commerce scorecards for all accounts.

This role will incorporate the understanding of key business drivers learned through collaboration with multiple SMG business groups and the customers while accommodating customer-specific variables.  This position will collaborate regularly with multiple internal and external partners.  This includes the evaluation of 3rd party resources, service providers, mergers, and acquisitions.  This position will work directly with the internal Scotts Distribution and Supply Chain teams as well as maintaining the relationship with our eCommerce warehouse locations. 

Candidates should have eCommerce experience and be able to deliver analytical support with creative thinking.  This position will work with all of the top eCommerce Marketplace sites including Amazon, Home Depot, eBay, Lowes, and our own Direct to Consumer sites.  

Key Responsibilities

Key Account Support (Direct to Consumer, DNVB’s, & Retailer Drop Ship):

  • Pricing, Program & Product Offering – Manage SKU listings and pricing files, Drive new item setup with Sales and in customer systems 

  • Regulatory Support – State & County Restrictions, EPA #’s, State Registration #’s, Hazmat, MSDS

  • Order Processing Support – Resolution of order processing issues by working closely with Customer Service, Finance,  & Supply Chain

  • EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) & account system maintenance

  • Inventory Support – Run weekly audits of current Drop Ship inventory for all Drop Ship warehouse locations

  • Manage Amazon FBA - Manage inventory replenishment, SKU setup, & reporting


  • Execute standardized processes and forecasting methodology for assigned category and customer. 

  • Utilize forecasting tools to develop and maintain operational forecasts which align to financial forecasts.

  • Collaborate with sales teams, demand planning, demand fulfillment, and the customer to understand and analyze key business drivers for all product categories.

  • Review item level sales and shipment forecast consumption to identify root cause and corrective action.  Validate forecasts for new and transitioning items.

  • Manage the Drop Ship inventory with creating forecasting tools to be shared with multiple departments.

Project Management / Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead evaluation process for key external partners related to eCommerce.

  • Develop cost savings/avoidance projects related to packaging, manufacturing, and pick/pack/ship process.

  • Run model scenarios end to end for existing drop ship and DTC programs while supporting expansion opportunities.  This includes financial data to support P&L targets.  

  • Manage operational vendor scorecard and identify opportunities to improve operational inefficiencies.

  • Creation and analysis of promotional support files through audits, BW reports, shipping analysis

  • Reporting & analysis for sales, product offerings, and as needed to support accounts requests


  • Manage order flows and resolve issues with customer orders.

  • Provide guidance to the order processing team to ensure orders flow through the system properly.

  • Manage customer and internal performance scorecards.

  • Monitor customer compliance (Includes fine reduction/avoidance).

  • Monitor shipping site and shipper performance.

  • Manage and support new item setup processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Two years’ experience as business analyst and/or sales support specialist 

  • Two years’ experience working with sales support systems – moved this up on

  • High degree of understanding of Supply Chain concepts and statistical measures

  • Experience extracting reports utilizing various systems – SAP and BW preferred

  • Advanced  skills with Microsoft Excel including: Formula Writing, Pivot tables, Vlookup, Conditional formatting

  • Exceptional strategic and analytical skills - ability to see the big picture

  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the business 

  • Demonstrated sound judgement skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality 

  • Effective time management skills 

  • Proven ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency

  • Effectively manage high volumes of work independently

  • Demonstrated success of meeting goals, objectives, and deadlines 

  • Experience in the Lawn & Garden industry is a plus
