We are looking for a Director, Pricing & Trade Finance who will join our Finance team in Marysville, Ohio.

This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH.  Not familiar with Columbus? Visit columbusregion.com/columbus-2020/

The  Director, Pricing & Trade Finance provides financial support and strategic direction to our North America Consumer organization focusing on our pricing and promotions.  This position reports to the VP, North America Finance and manages a team of six to eight associates.

 

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability

  • Track market trends and keep up to date on prices set by competitors

  • Monitor retail pricing across customers to identify and troubleshoot anomalies

  • Understand price elasticity of our products and make suggestions on retail price changes, channel deconflict activities, and other pricing policies 

  • Track & analyze the impact of promotional activity; utilize results to influence future plans 

  • Oversee all pricing in the ERP system to ensure integrity and accuracy

  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance to track and forecast all trade (rebates, promotions, etc.)

  • Streamline and automate team processes to allow for more flexibility and effort towards value added activities

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Education: BS in Finance or Accounting. MBA/graduate degree preferred.

  • Experience: 10+ years of post-undergraduate work in various finance or analytical roles required. Demonstrated record of increased responsibility, analytical problem solving, leading teams and effective communication.

  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles.

  • Prior experience should include solid exposure to managing pricing processes and implementing pricing initiatives. 

  • Must be able to work independently and manage a team.

  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills required.

  • Ability to develop clear presentations based upon data analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as this position regularly interfaces with senior management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Must be able to work with little direction and to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with sales, marketing and finance.
