We are looking for a Fleet Supervisor at our Romulus, MI Hawthorne Gardening Co location. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for the execution of all activities related to our fleet.  This position is critical in ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.  The position directly impacts distribution costs to the company but more importantly positively impacts our customers’ experience.


What you’ll do in this role:

  • Plan fleet routing using optimization software. 

  • Manage driver schedules and routes.  

  • Manage driver vacation and planning

  • Facilitate driver safety meetings. 

  • Administer company training programs

  • Monitor driver performance and equipment utilization

  • Monitor DOT safety compliance.

  • Track maintenance schedules and coordinate equipment repairs.

  • Audit pre/post trip inspection reports. 

  • Support HR driver recruitment activities. 

  • Communicate with Customer Service and customers on delivery issues

  • Communicate with leadership on delivery sequence for efficient process flow


What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a transportation environment

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations required

  • General computer skills are required (Microsoft Apps, Google Apps, etc.)

  • Ability to float between shifts to conduct effective training is required.

  • Ability to effectively create/update related SOPs as required.

  • Strong attention to details, highly organized, good communication.

  • Strong problem solving skills preferred.

  • A passion for working in a fast-paced environment

  • Attend virtual/physical meetings as required.

  • High energy level and be self-motivated.
