We are looking for an Integrated Marketing Manager to grow with us at the Hawthorne Gardening Company. You can be located near one of our corporate headquarters in Vancouver, WA or Columbus, OH. Or we are also open to remote workers as well.

The Integrated Marketing Manager will be one of the leads in the Internal Marketing Communications Team. The position is responsible for partnering with internal agency and external agencies. The main objective of the role is to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans for a group of Hawthorne Gardening brands. Opportunity for one direct report; responsible for their growth and development.

Leads to ensure creative and communication plan is on strategy and delivers on business objectives: 

  • Leads cross functional discussions & kickoffs on new projects

  • Determines proper resources and knowledge experts to engage

  • Manages creative brief process and alignment

  • Partner across the internal agency and marketing services organization to translate marketing strategies into marketing executions  

  • Actively work with Brand and Strategy to develop objectives, briefs and communication documents. Align senior management and stakeholders on strategic marketing objectives. Actively facilitate and participate in briefing internal and external partners.

Collaborates across internal and external studios, primary liaison for Marketing Services and Brand, manages relationship with outside agencies, vendors and partners:

  • Main point of contact for all agencies – leads any agency meetings, kickoffs or status updates; captures feedback

  • First point of contact for all media driven marketing projects

  • Build relationships across functions and agencies to foster trust and transparency. Serve as primary point of contact for Brand Directors / Managers. 

  • Work with and assess agency relationships and processes. Manage issues and escalates appropriately.  

  • Provide thorough communication within the internal studio, across Marketing Services functions, external agencies and Brand team.

  • Assist in prioritizing projects  

Strong understanding of all marketing services capabilities and overall brand/business strategy and launches:

  • Integrates creative across all touchpoints

  • Utilizes/engages all MS knowledge experts to continue to innovate and bring new ideas to the table

  • Creates and maintains brand standards and voice/tone

  • Partner with the analytics team to develop and report on campaign metrics. Support test and learn strategies.

  • Maintain deep understanding across Marketing Services capabilities - media, sponsorship, PR, traffic, creative services, packaging, digital marketing (search marketing, website, content, social media, email, mobile app, video), eComm, finance, consumer services, insights and research, analytics, shopper marketing, etc.

  • Actively seek out and understand new trends in marketing - digital, media, social, content, spons

  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of key brand products associated with the internal studio and marketing priorities

Oversee execution of all studio activity, manage priorities and deliverables connect dots to ensure all touchpoints are cohesive and deliver against plan:

  • Ensure marketing assets are delivered by deadlines   

  • Ultimately responsible for marketing project completion on time and on budget 

  • Initiates and gains approval on all SOWs and RFPs

  • Maintain overview of working Marketing Services budget. Identify opportunities for efficiencies. Working knowledge of brand financial goals and deliver against goals.  

The perfect person will have:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 6-8 years of comparable experience in marketing management or other relevant work experience; agency account management experience a plus

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to influence and lead across the organization - across, up and down

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across functions and personality types

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Proven project management skills with experience balancing multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Must know how to navigate a complex, cross-functional environment and add value

  • Exceptional organization skills and a strong attention to detail

  • Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to anticipate needs, work independently and take initiative

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; other creative platforms a plus
