We are looking for a Packaging Operator who will grow at our Marysville, OH facility.

Starting Pay $25 per hour for Grade 3 positions and $18 per hour for Grade 1 positions

-Pay increasing every 6 months and topping out in 3 years


In this job you will:

  • Operate automated packaging equipment on one of 10 lines that packages Scotts fertilizer into finished product to be used by consumers across the entire United States. There will be a team of approximately 19 associates on your shift, including 2 group leaders and a supervisor. Some of the roles you'll work in are described below:
  • Bag Hanger and Palletizer Operator - Load the bag hangers with components and ensure high quality finished products. Troubleshoot and adjust the machines to ensure the highest production efficiency. Convert both machines to fill different sized bags and pallet configurations.
  • Stretch Wrapper Operator - Oversee the wrapping of finished pallets. Add components suchs as pallet bands and slip sheets to pallets. Troubleshoot and adjust the machines to ensure the highest production efficiency.
  • Forklift Driver - Replenish and unloaded components used by the packaging lines such as pallets, bags, corrugated cardboard, glue, plastic wrap, and labels.
  • Clean, lubricate, reassemble, install, troubleshoot and adjust assembly line equipment to meet yearly and daily maintenance requirements and to complete frequent reconfiguration of assembly lines in preparation for changing product runs.
  • Adhere to plant safety rules and programs as it pertains to self and all other associates, including performing audits, and safety suggestions.
  • Learn multiple pieces of automated equipment and have flexibility to move to different machinery.
  • Effectively communicate and relay information to peers and supervisors concerning the performance of the production line as it pertains to the assembly, operation and performance of the line.
  • Continuously look for methods, procedural changes, or equipment modifications to improve line output and efficiencies and communicate appropriately.

The perfect person will have:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to make decisions regarding equipment adjustments to meet product specifications and quality conformity.
  • A positive attitude and great teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn multiple machines or operations and grow skills.
  • Available to work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a machine operator with automated equipment.
