We are looking for a Process Operator who will grow at our Marysville, OH facility.

Starting Pay $25 per hour for Grade 3 positions and $18 per hour for Grade 1 positions

- Pay increasing every 6 months and topping out in 3 years

In this job you will:        

  • Operate System 1 and 2's chemical fertilizer processes. You will be a part of the team that takes raw materials and creates the finished Scotts fertilizer used by consumers across the entire United States. There will be a team of approximately 16 associates on your shift, including 3 group leaders and a supervisor. Some of the roles you'll work in are described below:

  • Raw Material Unloading - Unloading raw materials coming in via train and trucks. Ensure the proper materials are loaded into the system on time.

  • Active Solution Vessels - Monitoring equipment such as chemical reactors, kettles, blenders, and granulation drums to ensure that end product formulation standards are met.

  • Screening and Milling - Ensure that product quality standards (particle size) are met. Cleaning and maintaining the operation of the equipment and conveying systems.

  • Perform a variety of job tasks that support the operation of equipment and manufacturing of products. Tasks include preventative maintenance activities, cleaning of equipment, reblending, collection of samples and data, maintaining accurate records, and completing inspections and audits.  Work may include the operation of power tools.

  • Follow all safety procedures and practices and use proper safety attire for each specific job assigned or area involved. Perform safety inspections or checks. Actively participate in safety training and special projects.

  • Actively maintain and improve housekeeping in the department.

  • Use computers to operate production equipment and monitor operations.

  • Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.

The perfect person will have:

  • High School Diploma / GED.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to make decisions regarding equipment adjustments to meet product specifications and quality conformity.

  • A positive attitude and great teamwork skills.

  • A willingness to learn multiple roles and grow skills.

  • Available to work any shift and overtime as needed.

  • 1 year experience as a machine operator, production operator, or farmer.
