We are looking for a Packaging Equipment Engineer to join our team in Marysville, OH!

The Packaging Equipment Engineer is responsible for overseeing new packaging development projects, and the improvement of existing packaging equipment. The Packaging Equipment Engineer must successfully interact with packaging equipment suppliers, R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain in a marketing driven consumer goods company. They will be seen as a technical functional expert, as well as a key technical lead on project teams. All this activity must be managed in a pro-active manner to assure that environmental, product, and safety is not compromised.

What you'll do in this role:

  • Work closely with our supervisors, group leaders, engineers, production and maintenance associates to increase uptime and output from packaging equipment while maintaining high levels of safety and quality.

  • Oversee performance of Thiele bag hangers, stretch wrappers, and conveyors.

  • Assist in troubleshooting major packaging equipment issues impacting production.

  • Participate in the daily production meeting, offering technical expertise.

  • Partner with the maintenance department to prioritize work orders and overhauls.

  • Support the installation of capex projects led by Project Engineers. Some of our current projects at the Marysville Plant include the installation of a “Line of the Future,” installation of new stretch wrappers, and the relocation equipment to allow for future packaging expansion.

  • Work cross functionally with R&D and marketing to start up new innovations in the packaging department

  • Adjust programming on automated equipment to improve speed and reliability.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical preferred)

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with expertise in root cause analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate interaction between functions and roles.

  • Ability to use current PC-based software (e.g., Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Project, etc.) and Google suite applications.
