Job Description

Plan, direct, and oversee auditing activities of the Quality Department.  Assess skills of Quality Auditors and monitor performance to appropriate levels.

Monitor compliance of Quality Metrics and KPIs. Focus on continuous improvement of Quality Systems. Prepare materials, coordinate and deliver training.

Collaborates with Quality Supervisor in execution of technical projects engaging relevant departments to maintain and improve product quality.  Other tasks as assigned.

Auditing Activities

  • Direct activities of the Quality Assurance Auditors to ensure compliance with business needs and requirements of the Quality Systems.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe work environment for associates by confirming the adherence to safety policies, assessing and eliminating hazards, and conducting timely accident/incident investigations, including the implementation of corrective action to prevent future similar accidents.
  • Recommend development plans for Quality Auditors.
  • Complete required data entry in SAP and iAuditor and administer timekeeping of assigned associates.

Quality Issues

  • Monitor investigations, communications, tracking and documentation of quality issues (e.g.: lot number tracking, counts, start & end dates, finished good recalls). 
  • Monitor hold-for-inspection (HFI) activities.  Ensure HFI entries are complete and accurate, and that materials are dispositioned and processed in a timely manner.  Hold periodic Material Review Board Meetings.
  • Monitor scrap.  Take estimates and communicate daily findings.
  • Monitor QM SAP activities.  Works with Quality Supervisor to manage internal and external corrective action requests, vendor notifications, internal notifications, and waivers (ZV, ZS & ZW).
  • Generate and submit periodic reports (FPY, HFI, Scrap).
  • Participate in the regular meetings as required.

Training

  • Prepare and translate training materials.  Prepare sign-in records, deliver or delegate training in English & Spanish and track attendance.

Documentation, Data & Records

  • Track record retention and keep version control of quality documentation.
  • Manage quality related internal databases (Deviations, First Pass Yield, Test Trial Evaluations, Hold for Inspection, Vendor Incidents, Internal Incidents).

Education:

Associate's degree required or equivalent work experience.

Experience:  

Two years experience working in a quality and three years of experience in fast pace manufacturing.

             

Knowledge:  

Familiarity with Quality Systems, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action Implementation.  Able to communicate to different departments on various subjects.

Skills and Abilities:  

  • Must solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must teach, direct and motivate associates. 

  • Must be able to react positively to feedback.

  • Must lead and communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish is required.

  • Must possess strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access and Google Suite.

  • Familiarity with iAuditor or equivalent QA system, SAP experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must have ability to lift 35 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods.
