Agrolux Nederland B.V. is an industry-leading brand based in the Netherlands that operates in the greenhouse lighting space.  Agrolux is part of the Hawthorne Gardening Co, North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hydroponic products. Hawthorne is a subsidiary of Scotts- Miracle Gro (SMG), the world leader in lawn and garden products and services.  

Agrolux is effectively responsible for all Hawthorne’s business in North America and also for the sales in AsiaPAC to commercial growers. The Agrolux brand is in North America a very reputable brand in commercial horticulture. The Sales Manager will succeed the current incumbent and will focus on expanding the Agrolux sales.

What we expect

  • Work closely with current incumbent to seamlessly take over the current business responsibilities in NAM & AsiaPAC.

  • Execute overall sales strategy to ensure meeting revenue goals.

  • Propose and implement strategic and tactical initiatives to further strengthen and expand the Agrolux business in North America and AsiaPAC.

  • Partner with the Sales Director to ensure sufficient support for his business and to weigh in on the overall International and global professional horticulture business interests.

  • Liaise closely with other North American team members to ensure the devising and implementation of the most effective overall strategy for Hawthorne pro-hort.

  • Gain the trust of customers by building a long-term relationship with them.


  • Ideally a horticulture undergraduate combined with a business post graduate degree.

  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills.

  • At least 10 years of experience preferably in greenhouse horticulture and sales.

  • International experience in a multinational, preferably in an American company.

  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally.

  • Comfortable dealing with and managing an ever-changing, highly competitive environment

  • Strong track record;

  • Action-oriented and high ambition to advance career in a global company.

  • Able and willing to travel c. 25% of his time.
