The Digital Experiences department at SMG focuses on elevating owned digital properties based on business objectives and consumer expectations with digital technology.

Within Digital Experiences, Product Owners serve as a liaison between other Digital Experiences practice leads, IT Solutions, Integrated Marketing, and Brand Teams to facilitate agile product development for consumer facing products. Acting as a voice for the business, Product Owners own the product roadmap & backlog, align objectives to a digital strategy, set success criteria, and prioritize activities required to meet product development needs.  Product owners will directly interface with UX, architecture, software development, and operations experts to define, document, and articulate requirements to the delivery team. Product Owners will use a high level of product knowledge and critical thinking to prioritize user stories and development, and ensure successful communication and implementation of all agreed-upon initiatives and their outcomes.

As a Sr. Product Owner for Digital Experiences,  you will act as the product owner over several large products. You will report to the Product Owner Manager and support more junior level product owners to set best practices. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with other Product Owners and key stakeholders (brand marketers, IT Solutions and Services, B2B product owners, department tool users, delivery teams, and architects) to define B2C product strategy and vision

  • Responsible for product prioritization, including value identification, and progress against the broader business strategy

  • Own and build the roadmap for the Marketing & Digital B2C products in coordination with stakeholders, IT solutions, and other product and program managers

  • Regularly and clearly communicate the roadmap and priorities with stakeholders and leadership

  • Manage and communicate iterative priorities

  • Work closely with IT Solutions to drive the development of high quality software aligned with or ahead of the roadmap timelines and to identify, test, and iterate on features 

  • Effectively communicate with business and product team members to drive alignment and motivate smart people to do their best work

  • Use qualitative and quantitative measures to inform product development and determine whether your solutions are solving the problem

  • Manages a team within the overall Digital Experiences product team responsible for curating and defining business and digital strategy, creating and maintaining a detailed product backlog, coordinating User Acceptance Testing, and defining and executing product release strategies with end-users, technology leads, and fellow product managers

  • Provide leadership to managers and professional staff. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams, developing departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities. Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives

  • Effectively influence others internally and externally, including senior leaders
     

Key Qualifications 

  • 7+ year of experience, 3+ years of experience in Product Management and/or other relevant experience, preferably with DTC technology experience

  • Experience managing people preferred

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships, build trust in a demanding environment, and succeed cross-functionally

  • Ability to navigate and thrive in ambiguity

  • Experience working closely with IT organizations

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products

  • Experience in fast-paced work environment, with the ability to triage and make good decisions quickly

  • Strong written and verbal skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences from end-users to the Senior Management

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and practices

  • A sense of ownership, responsibility, and inclusiveness for the delivery of new features
