We’re looking for a Sr. Production Scheduling Analyst to grow with us at our world headquarters in Marysville, OH!

This is a newly created position where you will be responsible for the development of an item, production line, and Plant level weekly production schedule that is tied to a monthly production plan. You’ll also be responsible for communication between the manufacturing sites, supply planning, and the material requirement planning team.

You will ensure that schedules are optimized in a manner that supports improvements in service, cash,  and cost. Since this is a newly created role, this position offers the opportunity to create brand new processes and roll them out across the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Create a new process for developing weekly production plans for Growing Media (soil and mulch) production facilities.
  • Develop new weekly production plans, ensuring weekly schedules are aligned to high level monthly master production plans and are feasible from a plant level execution standpoint. Upload weekly and monthly plans into SAP to ensure accurate material planning in SAP.
  • Understand and document plant level production constraints, including changeovers, run rates, available shifts, etc.
  • Work with each plant to identify adjustments needed to the weekly plan (short to orders, material shortage, quality issues, production throughput, weather impact). Work with plant on appropriate adjustments to the plan, communicate changes to Supply Planner so they can adjust future production, upload adjustments into SAP.
  • Insure increases/decrease in Demand in the short term are built into the schedule. Work with plants to add or remove volume from schedule. Understand the impact from a constraint standpoint. Ensure alignment with Supply Planning.
  • Track schedule compliance and identify root cause. Understand drivers at each plant and work with appropriate parties to increase compliance.
  • Develop new metrics to ensure cost, cash and service are in the appropriate balance.

The perfect person will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management.
  • 5+ years of production planning, inventory management or manufacturing scheduling experience.
  • Experience using SAP, JDA, or similar systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate adaptability when faced with a new challenge.
  • Passionate and detailed in task execution.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to change.
  • Some travel required as needed to support projects and initiatives (<20%).

  • APICS certification.
  • Experience in leading projects with cross-functional work groups.
