Gavita and Agrolux are two industry-leading brands based in the Netherlands that operate in the greenhouse lighting space. Our brands are part of the Hawthorne Gardening Co, North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hydroponic products and Hawthorne is a subsidiary of Scotts- Miracle Gro (SMG), the world leader in lawn and garden products and services. From our office in Rozenburg NH we service International customers in both professional horticulture and retail.

What are we looking for

We are looking for an ambitious Senior Marketing Specialist who translates marketing strategies into marketing campaigns, with the aim of positioning our products even better. You also like to do research and use this information to better market our products. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that opportunities are converted into concrete actions so that the set goals are achieved. You carry out these activities for both the Gavita and Agrolux brands. You report directly to the Marketing Manager.


• Defining marketing communication activities and necessary resources, in collaboration with the marketing manager and (if necessary) other members of the Management Team.

• Maintain an overview of all activities of the marketing communication group and monitor progress.

• The preparation and implementation of the marketing and communication projects within a set schedule and budget.

• Operational management of marketing and communication projects based on the annual marketing plans and budgets.

• Involve people and departments proactively in the development of marketing and communication plans (such as obtaining operational support from the sales coordinators).

• Managing external agencies in marketing communication projects.

• Support of the Sales department with communication materials.

• Planning and coordinating communication around product introductions.

• Monitoring and improving the form and content of the communication tools being used.

• Planning and preparation of trade shows, demonstrations and exhibitions.

• Quality management of the printed matter and monitoring the corporate identity.


You can work independently; you have a great sense of responsibility and you have a hands-on mentality. You bring substantive knowledge of your field, you have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and you are familiar with meeting 'deadlines'.

You are good at coordinating and organizing and your English is fluent, both written and verbal, speaking Dutch is an advantage. 

Experience in a similar position in horticulture or a related sector is a plus.
