The Sales Analyst will be responsible for supporting the execution of annual sales/marketing programs at Lowe’s. The sales analyst will be the primary Scotts Miracle-Gro point of contact at a strategic, high-growth Scott’s account. The work performed includes (but is not limited to):

  • Collecting and analyzing sales data

  • Providing historical context to inform forecasts

  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to support efficient, effective replenishment

  • Use data and insights to increase turns and service levels

  • The Sales Analyst role requires the ability to gather data, form insights and communicate plans to drive profitability. This individual will use sound business planning to ensure achievement of goals and must be able to complete complex projects simultaneously, meet objectives in a timely fashion and achieve positive financial results for Lowe’s and Scotts. Lastly, they must establish positive and collaborative relationships and communicate with key decision-makers.

In this role you will be responsible for:


  • Collect and Analyze data for sales trends and forecasting purposes

  • Forecasting and tracking daily sales, replenishment rescheduling, and logistics coordination that provides for effective and efficient order fulfillment


  • Analyze information and develop recommendations to drive sales opportunities, increase margins and increase inventory turns

  • Monitor exception reports as well as setup and monitor SKU replenishment standards and status

  • Leverage business performance data (POS, Invoiced Sales Reporting, etc.) and business intelligence (BW, SAP, Customer Systems) to understand current trends and future opportunities

  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with Scott’s associates – Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Master Data, and Demand Planning

  • Work closely with vendor plant personnel to facilitate a timely and accurate order-fulfillment process


  • Monitor exception reports for category inventory levels to achieve optimal profitability, ensure maximum turn and in-stock position

  • Support strategic planning functions including identifying key advertising drivers for sales development

  • Leverage analytical skills to identify shortage opportunities, uncovering root causes, proposing solutions and driving change

  • Facilitate accurate forecasts by account, by month

  • Assist in the resolution of service issues, as required

  • Travel, occasionally, to review store/market performance


  • Provide insight and analysis to facilitate the development of promotional plans and annual merchandising agreements

The perfect person will have:

  • B.S. in Business Administration is preferred; will consider equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience with data entry or accounting

  • Superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Some customer service and/or call center experience preferred.

  • Previous experience in financial services, retail or accounts receivable role highly desired.

  • Experience in lawn and garden category

  • Account management or order management experience desired

  • Must have advanced Excel proficiency.

  • Strong PC skills; ability to use Microsoft Office suite.

Some other nice to have’s:

  • Desired ability to use SAP R/3 and BW
