The Area Sales Manager is responsible for partnering with regional Lawn and Garden independent accounts to achieve sales goals and objectives for all SMG products. The primary responsibility includes building business plans with each assigned account to drive growth and then ensuring execution of those plans to achieve sales goals.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Account Business Planning

  • Understand Customer Needs

  • Inventory/Turns

  • Growth/Profitability

  • Build account-level sales plan for every assigned account to drive growth

  • Ensure collaboration with DSR/Distr Mgr/KAM on business plans

  • Marketing, promotional plans

  • Display Plans (both on-shelf and off-shelf)

  • Suggested Order Development

  • Sales Forecasting/Demand Planning

  • Communicate ABP’s to regional leadership (and any deviations)

  • Planning Customer Interaction and Territory Routing

  • Customer Relationship Management

  • Manage all assigned customer interactions

  • ABP Building

  • Order Writing

  • Order Delivery/Customer Service

  • Ensure execution of Marketing, Promotional, and Category Display Plans

  • Analyze Business Results with customer and adjust ABP accordingly

  • Coordinate with DSR on sales calls as needed

  • Administration

  • Process internal paperwork (including, but not limited to…)

  • Call Reports

  • APB’s

  • Process Orders

  • Track Orders

  • Process Co-Op claim forms

  • Communicate with Regional/Channel Leadership as needed

  • Execute Regional Priorities as needed

  • Participate in company and regional meetings as necessary

The perfect person will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3-5 years of sales experience

  • Lawn & Garden or seasonal business experience is a plus!
