We’re looking for a Category Coordinator Intern in Vancouver, WA.

In this role, you will:

  • Research and development of new products
  • Producing product qualification and testing
  • Ensuring alignment with the proper vendors.
  • Responsible for ensuring all appropriate shipping documentation for new and existing products is in place, for example (Vendor sales agreements, transportation requirements, etc.)
  • Open line and frequent communication with all Vendors regarding the following: Pricing-support efforts regarding product cost management and cost take-out (pricing and margin maintenance), inventory management
  • (with purchasing support), Freight terms and payment discounts, Sales agreement or contract, Product qualification, private label and exclusivity of products, Look for price take out while maintaining quality
  • Inventory management (with purchasing support)
  • Sales activity/growth and awareness to the SKU level
  • Assist in capturing sales of key accounts
  • Assist in insuring that company is not pre-paying vendors prior to having a reasonable time to inspect the product. Pre-approved down payments are acceptable
  • Responsible for 1st article inspections and quarantine of new products until they pass testing and inspection
  • Responsible for working with Marketing to initiate new product roll outs this will include the following:
  • Product packaging
  • Instruction Manuals-English, Spanish, Chinese, etc. for Global distribution
  • Web site visibility and special labeling for - Prop 65
  • Ad campaigns to include; placement of new product announcements in various trade magazines, supporting social media efforts, website content, supply bullet points and info to support product claims and Trade show prep
  • Maintain Sourcing project list with timeline and present updates at bi-weekly sourcing meeting
  • Work with Technical Support team to provide the following: Coordinate existing and new products needing service parts
  • Develop and perform quality and compliance testing to meet or exceed specifications
  • Mentor and support RMA (Return Material Authorization) Team
  • Provide training on new products Work with RMA to look for service or product quality trends
  • Be involved in Warranty process of products
  • Interact and coordinate with the ETL Engineer on ETL compliance

The perfect person will:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school.
  • Possess strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication.
  • Prioritize collaboration and problem solving.
  • Manage multiple tasks and is detailed-oriented.
  • Have prior internship experience (preferred but not required).
