We are looking for a HR Coordinator who will grow at our Corporate Office, Marysville, Ohio.

All About You - The Right Person

Who are we looking for to fill this amazing role?

You have intellectual curiosity and love learning how things work and why people do what they do. You don’t have to be Einstein, but you have moments of brilliance and really good street smarts. While you are scrappy and able to get things done at the highest of expectations, you are humble by nature. If you were a runner you would tend to sprint out of the blocks, but can keep enough resilience to make it through the marathon even if it throws challenges your way. You strive to be a strong player on the team and would be equally happy getting assists or being the leading scorer. You are enjoyable to be around and hold the demeanor of someone we'd want to go on a road trip with.

Experience matters too. You probably have some HR experience and likely finished college with at least a bachelor's degree. If you didn't, that's not a deal breaker but be ready to tell us why you are awesome for this role without having done those things. You definitely have had life experience that has shaped you into a confident person that isn't afraid to speak your mind and respectfully challenge the status quo. You have learned how to overcome obstacles and see things through despite challenges. You've always been a self-starter.

The Work

We have amazing things to accomplish and want you to be a part of it. In this role, you get to work within our Shared Services group which we like to describe as “the HR machine that makes everything work.” Whether it is being the subject matter expert on various HR programs, being the HR systems go-to to properly maintain our associate data, or the face of our Company to potential new associates as they maneuver through the recruiting and on-boarding process, our HR team relies on this group to “get things done.” To help support the team you will:

Support our team of awesome recruiters by scheduling interviews and generating offers for potential new associates;
Initiate pre-hire activities such as background screenings, new hire paperwork, relocation and work authorization compliance - basically everything that is needed for candidates to officially join the Scotts family;
Create offer and compensation letters for associates as needed and as directed by Director, HR Shared Services;
Administer some amazing HR programs we offer to associates, along with critical policies, such as the Tuition Assistance Program, Relocation Program, Expatriate Program, I9/E-verify, Worksite Compliance Posters;
Support the HR and Legal departments by fulfilling various requests;
Provide excellent associate support with inquiries related to HR basics, and HR related reimbursements;
Partner with other members of HRSS to identify process improvements.
