We are looking for a Coordinator who will join our HR Shared Services team at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH.

The Coordinator, HR Shared Services will serve as the subject matter expert providing HR Shared Services support for the organization. This role provides a broad scope of services to support the execution of human resources activities and processes. Delivers accurate and timely processing of HR transactions and delivers outstanding customer service to internal and external clients. Evaluates work requests and determines appropriate priority and resolution. Works with various HR functional areas to accomplish work goals.

In this role you will:

Significantly contribute in creating a positive candidate and new hire experience:

  • Schedule interviews, correspond with candidates, respond to candidate inquiries and process paperwork in a timely manner;

  • Generate offer letters in our JAS

  • Execute the initiation of pre-hire activities such as background screening, new hire paperwork, relocation benefits and I-9 compliance;

  • Be a strong partner for our recruiting team by maintaining strong relationships;

  • Create offer and compensation letters for associates as needed and as directed by Manager, HRSC.

Manage and administer HR programs and policies:

  • Administer and be a liaison with our vendor partners for programs such as relocation, expatriate program, I-9/E-verify and work-site compliance posters;

  • Facilitate other HR programs such as Tuition Assistance Program, HR communication forums;

  • Manage and gather information for unemployment claims by partnering with our third party administrator and internal managers in a timely manner;

  • Analyze program processes and performance to communicate insights and improvement recommendations to HR leadership.

Foster positive associate relations:

  • Serve as a vital source of human resource information for associates and HR partners;

  • Counsel associates on how to locate and/or perform certain employee self-service processes and/or tasks;

  • Assist associates and HR partners by being an initial HR point of contact to immediately resolve inquiries, or redirect to escalated support resources as needed;

  • Support and monitor various shared email boxes;

  • Create and distribute employment verification letters upon request.

Maintain document compliance:

  • Correspond with associates to ensure all proper documentation is received upon hire, tracked and filed accordingly; 

  • Audit associate personnel records to ensure meeting compliance standards;

  • Maintain associate personnel records in conjunction with offsite storage vendor - sending records to storage and requesting records brought back from storage as needed;

  • Support the HR and Legal departments by fulfilling record requests.

​Participation and execution of special projects:

  • Identify, and help execute, process improvement needs in areas stated above

  • Participate in various HR projects as they arise

  • Assist in driving HRSC process harmonization across all facets of the business

  • Train and guide new associates when they join the HR team.
