We’re looking for a Process Engineering Intern in Marysville, OH.

This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH.  Not familiar with Columbus? Visit columbusregion.com/columbus-2020/

Our Intern program is designed to cultivate the professional growth of students through a dynamic work environment. Over the course of several months you will work on meaningful projects and have opportunities to learn from industry leaders. In this role you will:

  • Partner with Plant Managers, engineers, and functional groups to execute Manufacturing Improvement Plans

    • Both lead and provide support for reliability project efforts

    • Identify common loss themes across multiple facilities and provide solutions

  • Diagnose technical problems, and identifying short and long-term solutions using Root Cause Analysis tools (Fishbone, 5-Why, FMEA, and other tools)

    • Recommends/facilitates the implementation of solutions

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and optimize safety, quality, and output while reducing costs

    • Lead technical support for glidepath cost out opportunities

  • Champion efforts to drive out manufacturing variation

  • Serve as a technical liaison for all levels of the company including production/maintenance associates, plant technical and management resources, corporate engineering and R&D organizations, and other plants.

    • Develop/deliver technical training for various levels of the organization and serve as a regional resource in cross-functional platform/technology/product teams

  • Drive EH&S related projects to improve the safety of manufacturing facilities

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school. 

  • Possess strong analytical and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication.

  • Prioritize collaboration and problem solving. 

  • Manage multiple tasks and is detailed-oriented. 

  • Have prior internship experience (preferred but not required).
