We are looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist who will join our Environmental, Health and Safety team in Santa Rosa, CA.

This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing environmental, health and safety compliance at the Santa Rosa, CA facility to all local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations and corporate guidelines and procedures.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Assume a leadership role in developing and promoting a positive EHS culture by maintaining a visible presence in all plant areas.

  • Establish and lead the implementation of site safety and environmental programs for all levels of the facilities, including site safety and environmental training.

  • Promote the facilities EHS image in the community through involvement with various community organizations and the local emergency organizations.

  • Manage federal and state regulatory aspects of safety and environmental programs, including compliance with OSHA standards and reporting requirements, DOT, EPA regulations, as well as other applicable regulations, company requirements, and guidelines.

  • Maintain applicable SPCC, RCRA, Storm Water protection plans, NPDES, and air permits.

  • Interface with Federal, State & Local government agencies.

  • Utilize/Modify existing systems and programs to identify safety trends and establish corrective actions to permanently reduce facility incidents.

  • Establish and develop capital projects designed to improve safety and environmental aspects of the facility.

  • Manage corporate EHS reporting, Compliance Calendar and EHS systems.

  • Coordinate vendor inspections and services (fire, sprinkler, waste water, etc.).

  • Team lead on the safety committee.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish. 

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Occupational/Environmental Health, Environmental Science, or Engineering degree preferred or equivalent.

  • One-two years of experience in EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing, agriculture or related environment.

  • Working knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations and standards. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Office Suite, and ProcessMap.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing facility operational procedures. 

  • Ability to lead meetings and train employees.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships to gain cross-functional alignment for execution.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, handle objects, tools, or controls.

  • Ability to walk and lift or move up to 50 pounds.  

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with a noise level that is Moderately Noisy to Noisy.

  • Must be able to periodically work flexible hours, including second and third shifts, if necessary.

  • Bilingual - Ability to speak, read and write in English and Spanish.
