We are looking for a Financial Analyst who will grow at our Mississauga, ON corporate office.

The Financial Analyst will support the Finance Team in the monthly close and forecasting processes as well as the annual budget preparation. This will include various tasks associated with financial planning and reporting including full P&L exposure as well as some Balance Sheet account responsibility. P&L involvement will be focused on Sales and Marketing line items. This position will also participate in our stage and gate process for evaluating new product offerings in conjunction with US teams. General Accounting responsibilities will include month end entries, reconciliations, reserve and trade program analysis. The position may also support Ad Hoc requirements at the direction of the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in monthly forecast process and annual budget development as required
  • Updating financial models, perform analysis of actuals versus plan, complete US reporting requirements
  • Participate in the annual strategic planning process
  • Prepare new product financial analysis
  • Assist in presentation preparation for management
  • Balance Sheet account reconciliations, reserves, prepaids, other in Blackline
  • Monthly cost center reviews with correcting entries as required
  • Assist with promo and coupon monthly reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assist with trade program management which includes volume rebates, advertising allowances etc.
  • Monthly accruals as required
  • Invoice coding for A/P

The perfect person will have:

  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma, preferably in Finance or Accounting
  • Working towards / enrolled in CPA program
  • Fluency in English reflecting ability to communicate professionally (in writing and orally using proper grammar and spelling) with internal and external people
  • High proficiency in Excel required
  • Experience with PowerPoint and SAP an asset
  • Previous work experience in an office setting
  • Superior time management – ability to manage self, time and priorities and ensure all deadlines are met
  • High degree of accuracy in financial statement preparation and month end processing is a must
  • Adaptability – able to balance multiple assignments / tasks
