The Account Manager will assist with the creation and launch of marketing campaigns for a select group of Scotts Miracle-Gro Brands by partnering with the Account Supervisor, marketing services team, and external agencies. This position reports to the Account Supervisor. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset execution and management: Manage the development of all assigned assets with various internal teams and external agencies to deliver marketing assets on time.

  • Develop and maintain a master asset list of marketing initiatives – owned channel marketing, social & search ads, content programs, etc. Regularly communicate the status of the asset list. Coordinate with team members to effectively move projects forward and meet deadlines. Schedule regular reviews of assets with Account Supervisor & Creative Services management. Ensure proper approvals through regulatory, legal, brand, etc. are obtained, documented, and stored. Prioritize accordingly.

  • Project management and coordination: Work with project leaders to ensure projects move forward and meet timelines. Actively participate on behalf of the Integrated Team in workflow management projects within Company project management system.. Regularly update the Account Supervisor on project strategy, creative, status of projects to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Open projects in Tracker, as needed. Ensure proper documentation is captured in Tracker projects.

  • Communication: Keep in close communication with the Account Supervisor and Integrated Marketing team. Communicate effectively with precision and detail.

  • Process coordination: Support continuous improvement – identification, evaluation, implementation - across all processes. As our department continues to evolve, assist in the adoption and migration to new project management software systems as needed. 

  • Meeting coordination: Schedule, attend and participate in meetings. Lead and facilitate meetings, as needed. Take thorough and detailed notes to be routed for consensus. Capture follow-ups with owners of deliverables. Track deliverables and timelines.

  • Document coordination: Develop, update and distribute key documents – such as weekly statuses, timelines, decks (upon request). Maintain a master list of all projects in the studio.

  • Vendor coordination: Assist in onboarding new vendors. Coordinate with procurement, finance, and traffic to ensure all new vendors are set up in systems. Work with invoicing and financing to ensure proper POs, invoices, etc… are created and managed. Support budget management.

  • Resource coordination: Maintain deep understanding across Marketing Services capabilities – media, sponsorship, PR, traffic, creative services, packaging, digital marketing (search marketing, website, content, social media, email, mobile app, video), eComm, finance, consumer services, insights and research, analytics, shopper marketing, etc. Utilize resources effectively.

  • Product and retailer knowledge: Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of brand products associated with the Integrated Marketing Teams and knowledge of shopper marketing trends and retail partner needs. Maintain a level of understanding of business priorities from season to season. Participate in Scotts Training Institute.

  • Ad Hoc projects: Manage ad hoc projects as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of comparable experience in marketing account management or other relevant work experience. Agency account management experience is preferred. 

  • Proven project management skills with experience balancing multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Must know how to navigate a complex, cross-functional environment and add value

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a strong attention to detail

  • Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to anticipate needs, work independently and take initiative

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across functions and personality types

  • Comfortable using project management software and proficient in Google presentations, documents and spreadsheets.
