We’re looking for an Intern, Global Information Security in Marysville, OH!

Our internship program is designed to cultivate the professional growth of students through a dynamic work environment. Position Summary:

As a member of the Global Information Security team, this role is a first line of defense in protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Scotts information assets and IT resources. The Intern, Global Information Security will provide daily operational support to information security processes. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with a desire to identify issues and formulate solutions that reduce risk and align with organizational strategies.

In this role you will:

  • Analyzes data outputs of security monitoring tools and proactively drives appropriate security measures to protect enterprise assets and end users.

  • Facilitates vulnerability and patch management assessment in line with organizational risk policies.

  • Responds to security and threat alerts and provides escalation to management.

  • Executes security operations, such as firewall rule management, vulnerability scanning, web access exceptions, and malware detection.

  • Executes reports and metrics on security domains.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of information security threats, vulnerabilities, practices, principles and solutions.

  • Assists in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation.

The perfect person will:

  • Exposure in researching information security solutions and best practices.

  • Technical proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems.

  • Fluency in one or more programming languages a plus, such as Python, Ruby, Power Shell, C++, C#, Bash, or Perl is desired

  • Demonstrates analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills to identify and deliver high performing solutions.

  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in understandable business terms.

  • Ability to coordinate delivery of solutions on time in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possesses interpersonal skills with the ability to work on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks as well as collaborate with Business partners.
