We are looking for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Technician who will grow at our Gresham, OR facility.

The RMA Tech will inspect, test, repair, adjust and/or install returned equipment. Provide technical support to
customers and sales staff. Compile and request credit from vendors.

Hours will be Monday-Friday from 7AM-4PM.

Minimum start pay is $20.00 per hour.

In this role you will:

  • Repair HID and fluorescent lighting equipment including ballasts, fixtures and reflectors.
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone and email.
  • Authorize or deny credit based upon testing and company/vendor policies.
  • Manage departmental stocks of components, materials and packaging.
  • Work with vendors to process warranty returns.
  • Use enterprise software to enter, access and/or retrieve data relating to receiving, returning, repairing and logging
  • information.
  • Must understand and utilize the most cost efficient delivery methods available.
  • Assist in other warehouse/customer service duties when time permits.
  • Must keep RMA area clean and safe.

The perfect person will have:

  • Experience in retail hydroponics store returns / customer service.
  • Typically, has product knowledge of the industry, and has experience processing returns.
  • Ballasts, lighting and/or electrical repair experience is a plus.
  • Detail oriented and communicate clearly.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive, professional demeanor and operate with a high level of integrity.
  • Must be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience safely operating warehouse equipment such as forklift, order picker and pallet riders.
  • Experience with electrical wiring systems.
  • Experience using electrical repair equipment.
  • General mechanical and troubleshooting skills are necessary.
  • Ohm’s law
  • Voltage drop testing
  • Digital volt ohm meter
  • Hi-potential tester
  • Basic hand tool set
  • Torque wrench inch lbs. and foot lbs.
  • Air tools, air ratchet, compressor
  • Lead and understand electrical diagrams
  • Infrared and stem thermometers
