We are looking for an IT Business Intelligence Tech Manager  who will join our Business Warehouse & Intelligence team in Marysville, OH.

You will be responsible for delivering sound technical BI solutions, utilizing best practice business processes and IT solutions to fit complex business requirements and scenarios in an ever-changing business environment and world-class IT organization.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Plan, lead, manage and execute different IT projects, small to large scale, taking on project lead roles when needed.

  • Act as a mentor to other team members; provide guidance as needed to ensure that project commitments are met.

  • Cross functional leadership to build collaboration across multiple teams to deliver projects and initiatives.

  • End to End understanding of the BI landscape; ETL, DW technologies to Advanced Analytics areas.

  • Conduct comprehensive gap analysis and/or business blueprint based on business and user requirements.

  • Document the current and future state model.

  • Configure and develop system application based on the blueprint design.

  • Thorough testing of the solution and support of user acceptance testing to ensure systems design.

  • Rollout and go-live support of the project.

  • Design, develop, document, and test dashboard and analytics projects, as it relates to the support of the overall BI business process.

  • Work with other systems application modules and technical teams to ensure viable system solutions.

  • End user support and troubleshooting of daily break-fix issues in a timely manner. This includes systems monitoring and timely response to helpdesk tickets, email and telephone inquiries.

  • Other duties include various administrative tasks. Examples include: status reporting, department and tower meetings, developing a performance plan.

  • Expected to function with minimal to no supervision.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BW, SAP HANA, or other DW technologies

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience configuring and implementing BI solutions using BO, Tableau, or alternative dashboarding tools

  • Good understanding of SAP Basis and R/3.

  • Preferred experience working with different business teams (Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing)

  • Experience addressing help desk issues in areas of expertise and assisting users.

  • Experience in the CPG industry or in a production/service environment similar to that of Scotts.

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Complex problem solving & analysis

  • Ability to formulate an in-depth technical strategy meeting the needs of supported business functions

  • Ability to meet with the business and technical teams to provide understandable technical direction that demonstrates understanding of and alignment with business objectives.

  • Relationship building with technical and non-technical personnel

  • Ability to develop strategic roadmap and serve as SME in related area


  • Computer Science, Computer Applications, and Information Systems degree or the equivalent combination of training, education, or experience

  • BW, BO, HANA or Tableau certification is preferred
