We are looking for a Lab Technician who will grow at our Operations Facility in Fort Madison, IA.

Ensures all criteria relating to product quality are met including but not limited to, product testing, weights and measures, additive control, coding and appearance, plus insuring that all necessary documentation, required by both State and Federal agencies, is completed accurately and within time requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Test, analyze, monitor, document and communicate results of chemical and physical tests of raw materials and liquid finished products, to ensure formulations are in accordance with label statement and to prevent cross contamination.
  • Perform chemical and physical tests of raw materials, finished products and rinse outs in accordance with written procedures.
  • Determine the validity of results using established quality assurance techniques.
  • Keep all laboratory data management records up to date.
  • Maintain Lab supply inventory.
  • Provide technical assistance to operations and engineering.
  • Use good laboratory safety practices and practice good housekeeping.
  • Provide support for Industrial hygiene monitoring and environmental sampling.
  • Assure that all duties are performed safely and in compliance with all environmental, health and safety requirements.
  • Complete special projects and reports as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree with college chemistry or equivalent analytical laboratory experience. Bachelor’s degree in science related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work with complex laboratory instrumentation (Gas Chromatograph, Liquid Chromatograph, Atomic Absorption, & LECO- Nitrogen Analyzer), computers,  spreadsheets, databases, and word processing programs.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated decision making ability.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as necessary.
