The Business Development Manager (BDM) position is key to the development and implementation of the Walmart Business Development Team sales plan for the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.  

The selected individual will be instrumental in managing the sales, POS, and forecasting information for the products in a specific Scotts Miracle-Gro multi-million dollar portfolio.  

You will be responsible for effectively managing plan-o-gram and display space, order recommendations, promotional plans, in-season trends, as well as sales, margins, turns, and fill rate goals. 

In this exciting career opportunity, the selected candidate must exercise outstanding communication and organizational skills plus the ability to develop, coordinate, communicate, and implement complex "Plans of Action" for the Walmart account.  Must be able to establish positive relationships and communication with Walmart contacts and internal Scott’s contacts. 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other relevant discipline required.

  • Minimum of 3 years sales/account management experience.

  • Previous experience calling on Corporate / National Accounts required.

  • Experience in consumer product sales preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • SAP / BW, Vision Chain experience preferred.

  • Ability to analyze category and product trends and translate them to executable strategies.

  • Requires advanced communication and presentation skills.
