We are looking for a Compliance Manager who will join our Legal team.

This position will be based in the Vancouver, Washington corporate offices.

 The Compliance Manager will work with the business to identify and prioritize opportunities to modify (and/or implement) business processes to satisfy the company’s legal obligations while maximizing efficiency and business efficacy of the processes.   The position will necessarily entail cross functional collaboration, facilitation and project management skills. It will also require experience with and aptitude for learning business processes and compliance objectives.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Compliance group and the Company to identify and prioritize compliance opportunities.
  • Support, or in some cases run, projects to implement and/or transform business processes to achieve compliance objectives in a verifiable manner.
  • Work cross functionally on projects with associates from business units and other support areas (Regulatory, HR, Finance, Quality, R and D and EHS).  
  • Research compliance objectives that apply to the company and translate them into business objectives that can be captured in a sound business process.
  • Facilitate the provision of legal advice relating to the Company’s obligations in light of its specific business context.  Translate this advice into business objectives that can be captured in a sound business process.
  • Anticipate and proactively identify compliance objectives and opportunities as the legal and/or regulatory environment changes, company considerations change and/or as the business changes.
  • Manage both project budgets and the Compliance group budget to accurately forecast and communicate about spend.
  • Learn and understand the elements of a corporate compliance program.
  • Support the Company in its creation and maintenance of its compliance programs, including helping to design, document, and at least on a temporary basis execute the program.
  • Commonly work in support of and/or at the direction of the Company’s legal counsel.

The perfect person will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience and/or Education with business process design.
  • Looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience running and/or supporting projects.
  • Experience and/or education with policy development, compliance obligations and programs.
  • Good research, writing, and oral communication skills.

  Some other nice to haves:

  • A JD is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in a consulting role is a plus but not required.
