We are looking for a Contract Manufacturing Manager who will join our team in Mississauga, ON.

The Contract Manufacturing Manager is the key owner of all aspects of supply chain relative to Scotts Canada products
produced by external sites. They serve as the lead contact to Contract Manufacturing sites, ensuring that contract
production facilities execute to agreed-upon production plans and new projects, maintaining lowest landed costs for
production and driving key supply chain, quality and safety metrics. This position will be responsible for managing projects,
developing analyses for cost savings, network efficiencies, E&O, etc.

What you'll do in this role:

• Manage overall relationship with all external contract manufacturing sites, interface between site and internal functions
(Marketing, Purchasing, R&D, Planning, Quality...)
• Negotiate pricing and other commercial terms with contract manufacturing sites.
• Lead Supply Chain contact for all cross functional projects – new product launches, cost analysis on modified SKUs,
special configurations, network optimization, etc
• Managing periodic cost updates, analyzing cost increases/decreases and understanding driving factors, and managing
upload into SAP
• Develop and drive cost reduction projects
• Developing detailed supply chain analyses including, but not limited to: material cost analysis, conversion cost analysis,
plant selection, capital requirements, MPV analysis and root cause identification
• Maintain MIM (Manufacturing Instruction Manual) for all facilities managed and ensure compliance from each facility at
time of production.
• Ensure all facilities managed are provided updated spec/formula/BOM info.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements relative to Scotts’ products.
• Coordinate planning and purchasing of Packaging and key raw materials, including deployment to various co-
manufacturing sites.
• Review sales actuals vs. forecast vs. budget, and interact with Sales to ensure monthly forecast changes are
communicated to vendors to manage stock and plan accordingly
• Drive contract manufacturer capability and capacity to enable on-time and predictable delivery of material to all points of
consumption and clearly communicate this to the internal Sales / Customer Service teams.
• Measure partner performance and drive continuous improvement with regular business reviews. Identify and champion
process improvements in support of new contract manufacturing requirements.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Bachelors in Business or Engineering. Focus in Supply Chain Management or related discipline
(Transportation, Warehousing, etc.) MBA not required, but preferred.
• APICS CPIM certification not required, but preferred
• 3-5 years experience in supply chain or related functions
• 3-5 years experience in consumer packaged goods company
• Strong Supply Chain knowledge and familiarity with general manufacturing and warehousing flow and
operation

• Experience with SAP, MS office Applications and data warehouses.

• Able to manage contract manufacturing sites
• Comfortable presenting to large groups
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and project management skills.
• Ability to influence members of cross functional teams, strong negotiation skills
• Self motivated and results oriented
• Solid experience managing third parties with previous experience in 3 rd party negotiations and contract
management
• Proven ability to identify areas of opportunity – change agent who drives continuous improvement through
engagement and the sharing of ideas

• High energy individual that works with a strong sense of urgency
• Team-oriented professional – open and willing to share information and willing to ask, learn and seek out
knowledge and information
• Skilled at external and internal partner development

Working Conditions
• Works the standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week; however, job requirements will include additional
and/or extended work time as the business dictates
• Evening and weekend work necessary as the business/position dictates
• Ability to travel overnight by automobile or airline (10% of time; majority of travel within Canada)
• May be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity including indoor/outdoor working conditions
