We are looking for a  Senior Front End Developer who will grow at our corporate office in Marysville, Ohio.

Our Marketing team is hiring a Senior Front End Developer. This person will be responsible for the front-end web development on our 5 branded sites (scotts.com, miraclegro.com, roundup.com, other.com, tomcatbrand.com), as well as several stand-alone selling sites including scottsprogram.com. 

In this role you will:

  • Drive the eCommerce development experience and have the ability to translate brand and company needs into functional and appealing websites that sell;
  • Use markup languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create user-friendly cross-browser / cross-platform web applications;
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed;
  • Design and implement responsive features;
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability and meet product stakeholder requirements;
  • Create quality mockups and prototypes as needed;
  • Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting;
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency;
  • Broad web and digital knowledge with an aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

The perfect person will have:

  • 5 Years of front-end development experience;
  • Proven work experience as a Front-end developer on ecommerce site;
  • Must be proficient in HTML5, CSS3, modern JavaScript libraries and jQuery;
  • Content Management System work experience; e.g Drupal, Magento, Acquia, etc.;
  • Flexible in working with cross-functional team of designers, developers, editors, and content creators;
  • Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Experience with UX as it relates to ecommerce sites;
  • Exhibited capacity to convey working arrangements on variety of assignments under tight due dates;
  • Expertise with additional programming languages, frameworks, and database technologies is advantageous including PHP;
  • Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop and content management systems.

Some other nice to have’s:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field;
  • Drupal or Magento experience.
