We are looking for an National Account Manager (NAM) who will join our Marysville, OH corporate headquarters.

This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH. Not familiar with Columbus? Visit columbusregion.com/columbus-2020/

As a NAM, you are responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategy for our larger national retail accounts like Tractor Supply Co, Kroger and Costco (to name a few). The Manager must exercise outstanding skills in sales, communication, strategy, relationship building, forecasting, prioritization and budgeting.

In this role you will:

  • Own the Line Review process from strategy to sell-in

  • Build effective working relationships within Scotts and throughout customers/partners organizations, which includes senior management, sales management, purchasing, marketing and supply chain

  • Create, communicate and monitor account sales plan to sales leadership and on an ongoing basis

  • Forecast, drive, track and communicate sales plan on a monthly, quarterly and full-year basis

  • Develop promotional plan that fits retail & Scotts strategy to maximize sales, while tracking vs. budget

  • Proactively provide strategic input to sales leadership in order to increase sales, profits and market share

The perfect person will have:

  • ​​Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration required or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Minimum of 3 years Account Management experience ideally with large retailers

  • Experience calling on mass merchant, hardware or home center accounts

  • Ability to analyze comprehensive data and translate it to an impactful story for leadership

  • Proven success with penetrating accounts at all levels required to maximize sales potential

  • Experience with creating, selling and implementing plans for each account to meet their unique market needs

  • Thorough knowledge of retailing activity such as developing and implementing advertising plans account programs and merchandising tactics

  • Solid understanding of Scotts Product Lines

  • Ability to travel overnight via car and/or plane (~30%)
