We are looking for a Mixing  Lead who will join our Hawthorne team in Santa Rosa, CA.

Starting pay $24 an hour!

The Mixing Lead is responsible for assisting the production supervisor in directing resources to safely and efficiently perform job tasks associated with the mixing and blending production process.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Ensure associates adhere to plant safety rules and programs. Lead by example through participation in safe behavior processes and programs.

  • Accurately track labor, record downtime, production output, and scrap by utilizing SAP and Mixing Tracker systems. Continuously look for methods, procedural changes, or equipment modifications to improve mixing output and efficiencies.

  • Ensure that mixing changeover procedures, work instructions and standard operating procedures are followed as specified.

  • Participate and perform investigations and provide detailed documentation as it pertains to safety incidents, including root causes and corrective actions.

  •  Influence positive change and associate lead activities for safety, quality, and plant improvements through communication and leading by example.

  • Safely maintain and operate blending, product transfer and ancillary equipment in accordance with batch ticket and product record requirements to ensure first run capability.

  • Review and check work order and raw materials for accuracy and completeness.  Operate pumps, blenders, mixers, filters, forklifts and related processing equipment, handle drums, totes, sacks/bags, pails and other assorted containers.

  • Select and set up pumping equipment as required; properly store and handle raw materials, identify and gather hoses, fittings, adapters and related equipment, select and hook up the correct pump/filter combination, check the cleanliness of the delivery system to ensure no cross contamination.

  • Measurement and addition of ingredients, in correct quantity and sequence in accordance with the batch formulation instructions. Meter, pour and/or dump materials into tanks, to create a batch product to be mixed. Oversight of the blending process ensuring the correct speed and time requirements.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Position requires the individual possess experience and understanding of the importance of efficient material and equipment, setups and changeovers.

  • Background in process control and troubleshooting preferred. 

  • He/she will be depended upon to coordinate daily inventory and material transactions and will also be responsible for product blending quality and effective time management. 

  • Heavy lifting is required.
