Typical work may include but is not limited to:

  • Poly S & SSN Systems: follow standard operating procedures for the operation of the systems. Work includes, but is not limited to the monitoring of feeders, process conditions, flow rates, raw materials to ensure that formulation standards are being met.

  • Maintaining accurate records of raw materials; maintaining the supply of raw materials to the process; operating front-end loaders, track mobile, and forklifts used to transport raw materials, rail cars, and trash removal; and reading labels on all raw material chemical bags to insure proper use of the chemicals in the designated areas.

  • Follow procedures for the coating phase of the operation for the screening equipment to ensure that product quality standards (particle size/DDR) are met. Work include, but is not limited to, performing cleaning tasks to maintain the operation of the equipment and conveying systems.

  • Perform a variety of job tasks that support the operation of equipment and manufacturing of product. Tasks include, re-blending, PM activities, cleaning of equipment, collection of samples and data, maintains accurate records, and completing inspections and audits.

  • Follow all safety procedures and practices and use proper safety attire for each specific job assigned or area involved. Perform safety inspections or check. Actively participate in safety training and special projects.

  • Must actively maintain and improve housekeeping in the department and assigned area.

  • Help assure that the department operations efficiently and safely while producing a quality product.

  • Perform safe handling for unloading and mixing of raw materials which include:

    • Sulfur/C-30 trucks, Elvax/Repsol, dye/pigments, Polyol A/B, Isocyanate, NMP and other raw material railcars/trucks

  • Arrange with shipping the appropriate number of truck bills/scanning of finished goods into trailers during production runs.

  • Investigate and help solve operational problems: equipment operation, product availability, warehouse support, maintenance needs, technician performance issues, product quality, etc.

  • Interface with SAP/computer systems: daily data entry/OEE’s, etc.

  • Perform start-ups/shut-downs; preventative maintenance and system clean up.

  • Ensure environmental audits are completed and procedures are appropriately followed: dust collector checks, maintenance work order requests, dust bins/labeling, etc.

  • Completes shift change communications with other operators.

  • Utilize computer to operate production equipment and monitor operations for Poly-S, SSN and Raw Materials systems.

  • Participate in the proper training of new personnel in all areas of the facility.

  • Completes special projects or other duties as assigned by the shift group leader and/or supervisor.


PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Position entails prolonged and repetitive motion of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead and arms/hands dexterity

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.

 

The perfect person will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills

  • Excellent communication both verbal and written

  • Strong computers skills (Excel, Word, MSDS Center, SAP)

  • Must possess the aptitude to make sound judgments in regards to associate safety

  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.

  • Ability to operate forklift, end loader, and track mobile.

  • Follow all Safety Guidelines to ensure that all associates remain uninjured.
