The Packaging Operator/Technician Performs various manual jobs associated with the packaging of liquid products and operates various packaging machines on an assembly line. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficiently and safely operates one of the following according to Standard Operating Procedures and within Standard Operating Control Limits on a daily basis: o packaging line components that include the scales, bag hanger, sealer, video jet coder and the bag conveyor, turner and flattener o bag palletizer machine and checkweigher o pallet wrapper machine Troubleshoot machinery as problems occur. Operates support equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures including: dust collection/management system floor scrubbero forklift Performs routine tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures as required including: system clean-ups rebagging and reblending of producto general housekeeping duties as needed Perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment. Knowledge of Scotts production systems and procedures including: SLS system product formulations and Scotts SKU system proper bag patterns and pallet layer height for each SKU layout of receiving and shipping departmentproduction logs and check sheets Lead the development, execution an d maintenance of training progam(s) for their respective department The lead trainer position will work with Group Leader and Supervisor to develop the training program with a goal of improving the department’s safety, efficiency and product quality. Develops and improves training standards with guidance from relevant parties (Supervisor/GL/Safety Manager, etc.) Trains new hires and existing associates on documented training standards Administers classroom and demonstrated testing to validate associate’s knowledge of training standards Responsible for recording and maintaining detailed documentation of training program documentation to include training SOPs and their revisions, Testing plans and Performance results Conducts annual review of training program and make necessary improvement/modifications to drive continuous improvement The perfect person will have: High school diploma or equivalent. Require strong problem solving and decision making skills. Strong communication both verbal and written. Must have good personal computers skills (Excel, Word, MSDS Center) Must possess the aptitude to make sound judgments in regards to associate safety Ability to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments. Ability to operate forklift, end loader, and track mobile. Ability to lift 70 pounds. Ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist, climb and lift for the duration of the shift. Follow all Safety Guidelines to ensure that all associates remain uninjured.
