The Planning & Replenishment Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all inventory & forecasting processes for Canada, managing the planning team, and meeting inventory turn targets.  The incumbent`s responsibilities include but not limited to developing supply strategies, monthly and annual budgeting forecasts, driving continuous improvement plans, and sales and operations planning for finished goods, raw materials, and distribution. This position collaborates with manufacturing, sales, manufacturing, and other supply chain partners, to execute supply planning strategies.

Specific Accountabilities: 

  • Executes monthly distribution resource planning sessions, as well as inventory budgeting and inventory forecasting
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the replenishment team and other internal stakeholders in the development and management of best-practice inventory management processes that will meet or exceed benchmarks for customer order-fill, freshness and inventory turns
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly forecasts, inventory accuracy and fill-rate to ensure the achievement of established key performance indicators
  • Analyzes historical performance and planned strategies to identify areas of opportunity or risk
  • Develops, implements, facilitates and communicates collaborative, planning, forecasting and replenishment (CPFR) strategies
  • Working with Marketing on new product introductions, pricing and promotions ensuring application of key events into forecasts
  • Builds projected scenarios for input into strategic product line decisions
  • Collaborates on best strategies to address product liabilities and develop action plans to liquidate in a timely and profitable manner
  • Analyzes product performance in season, monitors demand and adjusts forecasts to establish inventory levels that drive sales and maximize profitability
  • Troubleshoots coverage plans and supply disruptions on an on-going basis and re-aligns volume forecast to match inbound supply plans
  • Establishes or monitors specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
  • Keeping current with industry trends, including but not limited to the price of products used at the company and its competition
  • Reviewing and evaluating trends to help identify and report on sales risks proactively and collaborating to develop actionable mitigation strategies
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned

Requisite Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in business, commerce, supply chain management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • APICS, CPIM designation an asset
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in CPG Supply Chain Management role preferred
  • Experience using SAP, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and JDA/Manugistics or similar planning systems
  • Extensive experience analyzing sales reports or CPG companies a must
  • Understanding of Cross Functional roles and responsibilities related to S&OP Planning, forecasting and the required outputs.
  • Ability to communicate in English and French a strong asset
  • Excellent computer skills with an advance level in spreadsheet / data base applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively on a team and with a wide range of individuals
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal & negotiation skills, management ability, leadership, teamwork and judgement
  • Strong business acumen to identify operational issues and proactively drive solutions
  • Diplomacy, tact and decision making ability
  • Planning & organization skills
