We are looking for full time Procurement Planner/Scheduler who will coordinate planning and procurement services for raw materials and/or packaging components to meet plant’s production schedules.  Act as planning representative for the Fort Madison, IA plant, including communication of the production schedule to the plant, as well as communication of the production schedule to the planning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and executing purchasing for droduct materials and packaging components for liquids manufacturing plant.
  • Tracking and managing production schedules, and communicating the schedule to both the plant and planning teams.
  • Utilize the SAP MRP system to manage the materials and packaging components required to meet each production schedule and place material and packaging component purchase orders. Then supervise the purchase orders to ensure arrival times are met.
  • Communicate/manage material and packaging component forecast to vendors.
  • Coordinate and communicate material and packaging component delivery schedules with the warehouse team and logistic group shipping/receiving department.
  • Managing vendor relations with the ability to accurately forecast plant requirements and update the vendor as necessary, manage VMI progams where applicable, and work with vendors to have sufficient inventory to cover requirements as needed.
  • Identification and resolution of purchasing issues which will impact production plans, and communication to the teams impacted by the issues.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate inventory within the inventory control system (SAP). These activities include inventory adjustments based on warehouse end of run cycle counts, and researching errors and discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/ GED required, Bachelor’s degree in business preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of material resource planning principles to obtain optimal service to the plant at the lowest cost and risk to plant production commitments.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills, and ability to manage multiple complex project/tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices to identify and solve discrepancies.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Flexible schedule, and ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends, as well as be on call.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills working with production planning software (SAP preferred), as well as Microsoft, Excel.
