We are looking for a Production Operator(s) who will grow at our Airdrie, AB growing media (Soil & Mulch) production facility. There are 3 opportunities available on day and afternoon shifts.

The Production Operator ensures the production line is running to performance and quality standards, informs the heavy equipment operator to fill the shakers, performs housekeeping duties which include sweeping, and inventory management.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate with other department operators to determine required materials to be used for each production line
  • Ensure proper material flow to each production line
  • Ensure the correct packaging materials are being loaded and utilized on machines
  • Perform quality checks ( weighing and volume checks)
  • Communicate with the material handler regarding material needs or changes as required
  • Perform housekeeping duties as required to maintain and ensure both a clean and safe working area while observing all corporate safety guidelines and procedures
  • Complete production documentation ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness
  • Responsible for meeting quality and efficiency standards with Raw Materials or Finished Products
  • Responsible to inform the maintenance personnel of any equipment problems or concerns which they may encounter throughout the shift duration
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of others around them

The perfect person will have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year production plant experience is preferred
  • Ability to identify materials used, detail oriented, follow safe practices and procedures
  • Ability to read English and follow written instructions
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment additionally , hot/cold/ rainy weather, lift 50 pounds, and be able to climb ladders and work on their feet for the entire day
  • Availability to work required overtime including weekends and holidays
