We are looking for a Risk Analyst who will grow at our Corporate Office, Marysville, OH.

The Risk Analyst supports the Manager, Risk Management in the administration, governance, and leadership of the risk management program throughout all of Scotts. This role deals with all aspects of risk management including the issuance of certificates of insurance, coordinating the collection of exposure statistics, insurance policy administration and issuance of surety bonds. In addition this position may assist with negotiating annual renewal of all lines of insurance coverage; developing reports for executive management on claims including costs and trends; and working with third party administrators in tracking and resolving claims and litigation.

In this role you will:

  • Provides administrative support for Risk Management including processing invoices, certificates of insurance, auto insurance cards, schedule of property values, coordination of auto listings and other duties as appropriate.

  • Assists in management of auto physical damage claims and property and ocean marine claims, including claim reviews, monitoring reserve levels and claim settlement. 

  • Provides analysis and prepares reports on findings that help support the business cases in support of levels of company retained losses and limits of liability for insurance policies, as well as reports to management.    

  • Maintains policy documentation, including following up on outstanding items, reviewing documents received to ensure they are complete and correct and follow up for corrections as necessary.    

  • Works with brokers and third party administrators to obtain, compile and analyze renewal exposure information annually and assists with the completion of applications and specifications.    

  • Administers the surety bond program in coordination between business stakeholders and the broker.

The perfect person will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in business related field, risk management or insurance or equivalent work experience. 

  •  One to three years risk management or insurance experience preferred.

  • General knowledge of interaction of business concerns and insurance to protect business operations.  Familiarity with various types of insurance coverage.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks concurrently is important.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Detail oriented, accurate, organized, timely and logical.

  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work well with others.
