We are looking for a Senior Distribution Analyst who will join our Supply Chain Distribution team in Marysville, Ohio!

This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH.  Not familiar with Columbus? Visit

This position is responsible for analytical and project support for logistics execution.  Activities will include warehouse performance analysis and reporting, leading cross functional process and cost improvement projects (ie. validation of new and existing distribution strategies, planning, excess and obsolete inventory and inventory control in a warehouse.)  Ensures freedom to operate through the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, company policy, all legal/regulatory considerations, and company/regional Safety and Quality procedures.

What you'll do in this role:

  • Maintains oversight responsibility for inventory management and control.  Oversees annual physical inventories, cycle counts, audits, evaluates historical inventory data and collaborates with purchasing and finance to maximize service, minimize waste and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Responsible for all 3PL warehouse monthly billing for storage, handling and accessorials.  Includes PO create, setup and maintenance.

  • Responsible for the US Consumer rework budget which includes forecasting, reporting and ownership of financial results.

  • Provides support for physical inventories in the warehouses.Utilizes Business Warehouse, SAP, and other reporting mechanisms to improve the level of understanding and business planning.

  • Provides support for warehousing network changes, new product launches, product transitions, and acquisitions.

  • Uses written and verbal communication skills to communicate to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership. Including but not limited to emails, presentations and data analysis.

  • Works cross functionally across supply chain (planning, business development teams, customer service, procurement, manufacturing and logistics) as well as with marketing, sales, regulatory and finance on rework projects and influence proper inventory control in the warehouses.

  • Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned (ad-hoc reporting, data analysis and project management).

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, finance or other related degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years of operations or analytics experience.  Desired systems experience includes SAP, Business Warehouse (or similar reporting software), Tableau and Microsoft Office.  Analytical experience and knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures within a manufacturing CPG company and  general knowledge of retail business a plus.

  • Supply Chain/Operational experience

  • Strong supply chain finance experience

  • Strong analytical and statistical skills

  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Expert user of Tableau

  • Business Warehouse, Business Objects or other data warehouse reporting experience

  • Ability to accept project ownership and accountability

  • Able to work effectively cross-functionally within the organization

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to influence

  • Active listening skills

  • Ability to be flexible and open to change
