We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Supply Chain – Forecasting and Analytics for our Supply Chain group. This position will be based in Atlanta, GA and support our Home Depot account.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Analyze trends, patterns, and relationships in large datasets to estimate the effects of different market variables (pricing, promotions, weather, advertising) on demand.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate forecasts of market demand for Scotts largest customer, Home Depot.
  • Conduct research and incorporate key business drivers that influence production decisions, inventory replenishment, procurement of raw materials, sales strategies, financial projections, and marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with the Forecast Manager of Home Depot as well as other stakeholders including Supply Chain business groups and Sales group by collecting information that affects consumer demand.
  • Translate the analyses into quantitative forecasts that will be the basis of all production decisions, financial projections, and inventory replenishment
  • Communicate the resulting forecasts accurately to all Supply Chain, Sales and Finance counterparts in a timely manner
  • Present and explain the reasoning behind all forecasts to senior leaders, company executives, and Home Depot in an effective, professional manner
  • Review actual demand against the forecast and take appropriate action to correct forecasts when necessary. Communicate any changes to the forecasts promptly and effectively to Supply Chain and Sales counterparts.
  • Provide accurate feedback to Home Depot, Sales, and Marketing on the way changes to any market strategies would affect the forecasts and how forecast changes would affect production, inventory replenishment, and procurement decisions
  • Determine key-drivers of forecasting errors and identify opportunities to improve forecast methodology and forecasting processes in the long term

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Thorough knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, statistics formulas, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Finance, or another quantitatively-oriented discipline with some business focus
  • 2-4 years of experience in analytics, supply chain or forecasting

Other nice to haves;

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • The ability to make important business decisions in a high-pressure environment and to take responsibility for the results
  • A professional, confident communication style that allows you to have conversations not only with counterparts in other departments but also with company executives and with our largest customer
  • Formal training in or work experience with statistics and market research is desirable but not mandatory
  • Work experience in the Consumer Goods or Retail industry is desirable but not mandatory
