We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will join our Scotts Canada Finance team.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing
  • Gather and analyze financial data to develop fact-based, actionable conclusions provided to management to make long-term strategic decisions;
  • Key role in critical finance processes; including budget, forecast, financial statement close, and account reconciliations and analysis;
  • Provide variance analysis for business partners to help prioritize risks and opportunities to manage against the annual operating plan;
  • Support the development of the annual operating plan;
  • Complete reconciliations and analysis, ensuring compliance with close practices (SOX);
  • Provide "ground level" business knowledge and insights to enhance effectiveness of business plans being developed;
  • Proactively find ways to streamline business processes and improve efficiency;
  • Provide analytics, both quantitative & qualitative, to support various business decisions and business development opportunities.

Key requirements for the perfect candidate:

  • CPA designation required;
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years in finance, accounting or analytics;
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and ability to problem solve;
  • Financial and accounting aptitude, to analyze financial information;
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines;
  • Possess strong communication skills both internally and externally;
  • Operate with a sense of ownership;
  • Feel comfortable with ambiguity.

Some other nice to have’s:

  • Experience with SAP R/3 & Business Warehouse
  • Experience working in the consumer packaged goods industry
