We are looking for a Senior Specialist, Seed Distribution professional who will join our Scotts Supply Chain team in Oregon.

The position is responsible for all aspects of seed logistics associated with grass seed production and manufacturing for over 100M pounds of raw materials. This position will be responsible for accurately managing all data related to seed production, purchases, transfers, and shipments; supporting cost savings initiatives, developing analyses for cost savings, network efficiencies, E&O, etc.  He/She will maintain and improve the quality and service levels consistent with The Scotts Company established standards, policies, and procedures. 

This person must have excellent interpersonal skills to professionally represent The Scotts Company to various suppliers and external resources, as well as throughout multiple internal departments at all levels of the organization

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Manage seed test data for all raw material

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers 

  • Maintain production database records

  • Ensure complete record keeping to comply with all state and federal seed laws

  • Provide raw material supplies to grass seed contract locations to meet demand

  • Manage inventory and costs within structured budget

  • Support seed procurement

  • Develop and implement  logistical plans supporting seed supply and driving cost savings

  • Adhere to budgetary guidance

  • Drive supplier relationship management efforts for key suppliers on an ongoing basis to measure supplier performance and evaluate potential opportunities.

  • Communicate and report supplier evaluations and performance to stakeholders throughout Scotts

  • Highly motivated, capable of operating without supervision

  • Proven change agent with excellent facilitative leadership and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated team player with a strong initiative to win

  • Able to communicate with multiple departments within the company

  • Expertise in financial analysis with knowledge in cost model development

  • Exceptional relationship building skills

  • Good judgment, initiative, strong work ethic and dependability
