This position contributes to the success of the IT group through active communication, stewardship, and execution of the IT budget, financial planning/execution at the department and project/portfolio level, drives improvement and management of key finance processes, and ensures timely and accurate financial reporting. 

What you’ll do in this role:

IT Financial Management & Improvement:

  • Collect and compile data to build the information required to establish a multi-year Capex plan that aligns with the organization's long-term business strategy. 
  • Support and enhance the financial management (forecast, forecast variance, budgeting) processes across all BT projects. 
  • Key contributor to the annual Opex budget planning cycle and ensuring fiscal year performance against budget.
  • Support the Project Management Office in establishing/improving the use of ServiceNow ITBM Project/Portfolio financial management tool.
  • Provide support/leadership to project managers working through the capital funding approval process and providing consistent updates to the capital finance team on forecast and cash flow.

Cloud Finance Management:

  • Lead the financial management efforts for all elements associated with our cloud solution stack including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions.
  • Managing/monitoring cloud spend including the daily flash and monthly reviews, and analytics on spend impact when changes in environment are anticipated.
  • Lead effort to ensure optimized AWS cloud spend leveraging Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
  • Work closely with the Tax department to ensure that changing tax laws are accounted for in current and future financial planning activities. 
  • Ensure appropriate processes and procedures are established and followed for resources requesting cloud computing resources as it relates to budget/financial accounting.
  • Ensure the project funded cloud spend is appropriately controlled and charged back to the project.
  • Continue to evaluate TCO for each cloud solution stack being used in our portfolio to ensure we are optimally leveraging the best “cost analysis.” 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • 7 years of IT, finance, and/or business experience involved in financial management including forecasting, forecast variance and budgeting leveraging SAP.
  • Portfolio Planning - experience establishing/monitoring/reporting financials to single and multi-year Portfolios
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITBM
  • 3 years of strong working knowledge of managing AWS and Google cloud spend
  • Financial Management - demonstrated experience in project financial planning and cost tracking across multiple projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively express complex concepts in simple business terms across all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. 
  • Ability to think strategically and plan effectively. 
  • Conceptual and/or demonstrated project management knowledge and experience. 
  • Strong perseverance abilities in the face of challenges and an ability to deal with conflicts constructively. 
  • Ability to partner with peers, team members and demonstrate collaborative, effective teamwork. 
  • Comfortable and flexible with changing priorities, high levels of ambiguity, and non-routine issues. 

Preferred Experience:

  • Portfolio Planning - experience establishing/monitoring/reporting financials leveraging ServiceNow ITBM
  • ServiceNow ITFM experience
  • 3 years AWS cloud financial management experience
