The Senior Analyst, Supply Plannning position will be responsible for planning, execution, and management of the finished goods replenishment process for internal and/or external manufactured products, including developing production plans, deploying product into the Scotts North America warehouse network, rebalancing product as needed, and managing product transitions/launches.

Key Work Performed 

  • Production Planning:  Utilizing demand planning forecasts in JDA planning system, develop and communicate production requirements for manufacturing sites according to established weekly processes; issue and maintain PO's, monitor production schedule compliance.  Ensure data integrity in JDA and SAP for proper planning to meet fill rate and inventory turns objectives.  For applicable sites, complete material requirement planning, and issue purchase orders for packaging and raw materials from outside suppliers to support the production schedule.  Provide one point of contact for all plant-specific production related questions from other functions, and utilize problem-solving skills to collaborate with other internal functions and/or external contacts to resolve issues.  Metrics that tie to this key work include customer order fill rate (service), inventory turns, inventory dollars, production site compliance, and distribution/transportation cost.  Support and develop supply chain cost saving projects.
  • Deployment Planning: Develop and execute most cost-effective plan to deploy production and maintain inventory supply across warehouse network, balanced against fill rate results.  Monitor timeliness of shipments, and work with sites, carriers and warehouses to ensure on-time shipment from production site and on-time arrival at warehouses.  Drive continuous improvement by working with internal and external contacts as needed to resolve recurring issues.
  • New Item Tracking/Planning: Participate in annual execution of new SKU initiatives.  Includes participation in project planning meetings with other internal functions, and ensuring product is available to ship from across the network to meet target availability dates. 
  • E&O Inventory Management / Inventory:  Drive reduction in excess and obsolete inventory exposure of finished goods and components through production planning and collaboration with MRP team.  Participate in cross-functional E&O review meetings and initiate/communicate inventory write-offs for assigned sites.  Responsible for ordering/managing applicable corrugate/components as requested by warehouses. Participate in routine scheduled cycle counting exercises and annual physical inventory process for assigned sites.  Provide reconciliation support as needed related to inventory, production posting and accounts payable issues.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 2-5 years experience in a production planning environment. 
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Production or planning systems experience using SAP, JDA or similar preferred.
  • Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Supply chain processes and procedures within a Manufacturing CPG company preferred.
