 Responsibilities:

  • Works with the corporate logistics group to execute pre-booked S.T.P.O’s in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Communicate weekly capacity needs to carriers and corporate logistic planning groups.

  • Work with planning to coordinate inbound component loads to support the production schedule and make adjustments as needed per schedule changes or line proficiency.

  • Works with planning, distribution, logistics and plant supervision to execute direct ship to customer programs.

  • Execute emergency shipments and arrange transportation for unexpected changes and/or requirements.

  • Coordinate the drop trailer pool and schedule live loads when capacity dictates.

  • Independent discretion and decision making required to assess, determine and execute   most efficient routing of all inbound and outbound shipments, to/from Fort Madison Plant. 

  • Coordinating plans and shipments to off-site warehouses.

Requirements:

  • Support Scotts Safety Culture to ensure the Health and Wellness of all Associates.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation scheduling, shipping assistant role or equivalent role. 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associates Degree highly preferred.

  • SAP, TMS or equivalent logistics planning tools, critical thinking skills, high-level understanding of plant operations.

  • Multi-tasking, effective verbal and written communication skills, Organized, well versed in Excel 

  • Flexible around work hours, rotating shifts, and available for overtime.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with internal and external co-workers, customers, suppliers, etc.

  • Ability to work effectively with the team members at all levels and follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple simultaneous tasks, with interruptions.

  • Must be able to wear a variety of personal protective equipment.

  • Excellent attendance record.

  • Ability to utilize SAP inventory system, excel spreadsheets and e-mail.

  • Follow all Safety Guidelines to ensure that all associates remain uninjured.
