We are looking for a Supervisor, Maintenance who will join our Scotts team in Marysville, OH.

This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb of Columbus, OH.  Not familiar with Columbus? Visit

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Direct supervision over the mechanics, electricians, planners, crib attendants, and controls engineers within the maintenance department across multiple shifts of a 24 hour 7 day a week operation.

  • Oversee weekly maintenance schedule and allocation of work.

  • Provide direct reports with leadership, direction and coaching to achieve work objectives and continued improvement of performance and skills.

  • Handle all supervisory tasks, including vacation and overtime scheduling, training and development, and performance management.

  • Experience in

  • Perform daily work audits for quality and improvement opportunities.

  • Use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), specifically SAP, to facilitate work orders and tracking of metrics.

  • Hire and supervise any variety of skilled trades during installations and repairs.

  • Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of facility systems (HVAC, Industrial Equipment, Lavatories, Laboratories, and Water Feeds)

  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment to ensure CMMS compliance adherence and corrections are made.

  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.

  • Participate in coordination of project implementation and resourcing.

  • Ensure adherence to Organizational Health and Safety and Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.

  • Perform Safety and House Keeping Audits to drive cultural hazard awareness and 5S initiatives.

  • Execute preventive, predictive, and strategic maintenance plans.

  • Work with Operations department to troubleshoot production/quality issues as needed.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Four to six years’ experience in management of maintenance or a bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.

  • Previous supervisory experience with associates on multiple shifts.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to identify and resolve process, system and/or mechanical failures.

  • Knowledge of training requirements, standards and guidelines as they apply within maintenance roles.

  • Ability to develop system-based solutions driving continuous improvement efforts.

  • Knowledge of SAP preferred.

  • Successful track record of leading root cause analysis activities.
