We are looking for a Technical Manager, Computer Operations Engineer to join the Business Transformation group at our Corporate Headquarters.

The Technical Manager – IT Computer Operations Engineer will partner with all areas of BT and the business to support all batch scheduling, automation, and processing requirements. This role is responsible for providing technical direction, planning, and vision. As a technical leader on new projects the ideal candidate creates, maintains, and owns infrastructure related technical specifications, designs, and schedules. The role includes both day-to-day operational support of the SMG computing environment and related platforms, as well as project support. The computing environment is comprised of physical and virtual, distributed servers running SAP, HANA at both on-premises and cloud locations.

In this role you will:

  • Working closely with the business to gather production requirements for implementation of job schedules and code promotions while minimizing the impact of new and updated batch processes.

  • Coordinating scheduling activity to address corporate computing needs. This would include identifying and acquiring resources to meet the needs of projects and applications.

  • Meet with lines of business to discuss new job workflows and batch schedule requirements.

  • Administration and configuration of batch scheduling system (Control-M).

  • Implementation of Permanent scheduling changes for QA and Production.

  • Implementation of Code Promotions from QA to production.

  • Control-M calendar management.

  • Change control.


The perfect person will have:

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Math, or Science required; BS/BA Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.

  • Six or more years of Control-M experience.

  • Six or more years of hands-on experience with appropriate infrastructure platforms.

  • Minimum of two years of Windows experience in either academic or professional environments.

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure technology such as distributed systems, cloud computing (AWS, Google, Azure).

  • Experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution, patching and maintenance in a Windows environment.

  • Experience with common internet protocols and services including TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, TFTP, NIS, LDAP & AD.

  • Familiarity with  Active Directory and Group Policy.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate as a member of a cohesive and productive team

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Creation and maintenance of diagrams and documentation describing various aspects of the computing environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

  • Strong technical knowledge with core infrastructure services across Systems, Network, and Security platforms.

  • Knowledge of project management concepts and deliverables.

  • Proficient in technical documentation.

  • Robust troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and requirements.

  • Strong desire to learn new material and accept new challenges.

Some other nice to have’s:

  • Working knowledge of tools used for vulnerability management and security compliance.

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure health monitoring tools and processes.

  • Experience working with ServiceNow.
