The Data Engineer role will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture including new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.

  • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.

  • Work with business stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

  • Actively engage with key internal and external technology partners.

  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

  • Analyze the impact of any new requirements on the existing solution

  • Estimation of efforts for issue-resolution and change requests. 


  • 5+ years of developing and maintaining data pipelines

  • Process oriented with great documentation skills

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with Apache Airflow

  • Experience with AWS platform with emphasis on Amazon S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, RDS,  and Lake Formation 

  • Experience with data cleansing, cataloging, and validation

  • Experience with Neo4j Graph Databases, Mulesoft, and Graphql a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

  • 4+ years of Python or Java development experience

  • 4+ years of SQL and No-SQL experience 

  • 4+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling

  • Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
